Please – I beg of you – enjoy these links to some of the Internet’s finest monster-related content.

EXCELLENCE IN THE FIELD OF ‘DINOSAUCERS’ DIVISION

Matt Frank’s redesigns of classic, modern, famous, and obscure daikaiju are extraordinary. To say nothing of his ‘Dinosaucers’ work. You don’t remember ‘Dinosaucers’? I’ll…I’ll have to explain another time; there’s no room here.

HERE BE DRAGONS, NO SERIOUSLY, THEY’RE RIGHT HERE DIVISION

At last! A map of American lake monsters that isn’t afraid of eel-pigs and aquatic goat-men!

JOHN ELWAY AWARD DIVISION

Here are some pictures of Tim Tebow as a centaur. There are probably more of them out there, somewhere. But a few pictures of Tim Tebow as a centaur enhance a festive evening, whereas too many of them can leave a life in ruins.

NICEST CRYPTOZOOLOGIST YOU’LL EVER MEET DIVISION

Loren Coleman is a prolific and very intelligent cryptozoology writer. He also runs the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine, where you will often find him hanging around being just a ridiculously nice guy.

PALEOART DIVISION

Douglas Henderson paints prehistoric life with an astonishing photorealism and an artist’s eye rarely seen in the field of paleoart. His painting of a mosasaur breaching in apparent (if anthropomorphized-by-the-viewer) joy against a background of the descent of the world-ending Chicxulub meteor is one of my favorite paintings ever made.

SCIENCE AND ALSO SCREAMING DIVISION

Hey kids, it’s unspeakable muscular-anatomy models of mythical creatures, Hindu gods, and a doll, I think! Plus a disturbing new interpretation of the standard cartoon duck!

THE STEPHEN FRY OF PALEONTOLOGY AND CRYPTOZOOLOGY DIVISION

I want to be Darren Naish when I grow up.

THIS BETTER BE GOOD DIVISION

As a dear old friend of mine has put it, “DO NOT FAIL, MOVIE.”

FRIENDS OF THE REVEREND DIVISION

Jackalope Tattoo is owned and operated by Amy Bambi Wendt, my illustrator and general girl Friday. Her dinosaur and monster work is unparalleled, seriously, and you can pay her to PUT IT INTO YOUR VERY SKIN FOR EVER.

MONSTER SCIENCE LIVE DIVISION

Based in part on the strength, or at least existence, of this website, I have been asked to be a Featured Guest at Britcon 2014 in the beautiful Twin Cities! I will be, at minimum, delivering a speech on the cryptozoology of the British Isles, and talking about dinosaurs in some way or other with author Martin Powell. Come and see, come and see!
